In 2001 Ryan Cheff left his small town in the Great Pacific Northwest to pursue an IT career in the Oil and Gas industry in sometimes sunny California. Holding a degree in Management Information Systems from Washington State University Ryan quickly developed a reputation as a leader in the IT area at Chevron.

He was recognized as a technology leader and invited to participate in a year long program, Mentoring Excellence in Technology (MET). MET brings in the best and brightest technology leaders in the company to transfer knowledge not only in IT; but geophysics, alternative energy, drilling, visualization and many other leading edge areas that enable Chevron to be a top tier multinational oil company.

As a supervisor and manager Ryan has a proven track record of improving the efficiencies of IT support and development teams by increasing responsibility and workload while reducing overall headcount through leveraging highly skilled employees where their capability add the most value and handing all commodity and repeatable/scriptable tasks to low cost resources.
